Our Ethos
At Mysore Austin, we approach yoga as a lifelong practice rooted in consistency, presence, humility, and self-study. Our teaching honors the traditional Mysore-style method through individualized guidance, progressive learning, and a deep respect for each student’s unique process. We value sustainable practice over performance and believe transformation happens gradually through dedication, breath, and awareness cultivated over time. Our intention is to create a grounded and welcoming space where students feel supported in developing discipline, autonomy, and a meaningful relationship with the practice both on and off the mat.
Mysore Style
Mysore style is the traditional, self-paced method of practicing Ashtanga Yoga. Students receive individualized instruction within a group setting, learning the sequence progressively while developing consistency, breath awareness, focus, and independence in practice.
This method is suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners.
Led Primary Series
Led Primary Series is a traditional guided class through the Ashtanga Primary Series using counted breath and synchronized movement. An established Mysore practice is recommended before attending this class.
