Facing Resistance in Practice

Now, back to that fire horse energy we were talking about earlier. As someone with a lot of fire in their constitution, I feel especially connected to this because I have burned myself a few times by now. Fiery energy can be exhilarating for some and intimidating for others. It moves quickly and intensely. This is why having a teacher who truly sees you and helps you navigate that edge is so important. Sometimes it is a teacher’s job to lead you forward. Other times they are there to slow you down so you do not get hurt or rush past something important. I will always consider my teachers to be one of the greatest gifts of my life.

I want these words about awareness and effort to offer reassurance that any challenge can be figured out. What is illuminated might not be something you wanted or imagined, but it also could be better. Everything begins with awareness and effort.
